Hyaluronic acid lip fillers for luscious and plump lips

Beautiful, plump and luscious lips convey sensuality, warmth and hold strong appeal. Such lips are highly expressive and radiate a welcoming smile which attracts others. They also create a sexual appeal for the opposite sex. Thin and small lips, on the other hand, are not considered so attractive and appealing.

Thin and small can be an inherited characteristic or they can be a result of the inevitable ageing process with the addition of lines around the corners of the mouth giving a sad appearance to the face. Fortunately, non-surgical lip enhancement procedure has made it possible to achieve fuller and plump lips in a matter of minutes without undergoing the risks of surgery.

Lip enhancement or augmentation is an aesthetic procedure that restores the volume of lips through lip injections. The dermal fillers are the most commonly used lip fillers for lip augmentation. Most of these filler products are hyaluronic acid based which is naturally found in the body and have lidocaine which works as a local anaesthetic to make the procedure painless.

Hyaluronic acid based lip fillers are used for adding volume, improving the shape and structure of the lips. The filler is in gel form and when it is injected into the lips, it provides support, volume and shape to the lips tissues.

The benefits of using hyaluronic acid fillers for lip enhancement
The hyaluronic acid fillers offer multiple benefits for lip enhancement treatment which include the following:

•    Offers control over the volume of lips: The quantity of filler injected into the lips can be controlled by the cosmetic practitioner. It means that the doctor can easily control how much filler to be injected to achieve desired lip volume.

•    Gradual lip enhancement: It is possible to give gradual injections to obtain desired lip size and shape rather than injecting large quantities in a single go.

•    Lumps easily dissolve: Any forms of lumps or bumps that may form on the lips due to lip movement are easily dissolvable.

•    Minimal bruising and swelling: as compared to other lip fillers, hyaluronic acid fillers cause far less swelling and bruising.

•    Relatively long lasting results: They give relatively long lasting but not permanent results as compared to other fillers.

•    Little likelihood of allergic reaction: unlike the other filler substances, hyaluronic acid lip fillers are less likely to cause any allergic reactions because they are formed from the substance that is naturally found in the body.

The side effects include mild swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, discoloration and in rare cases erythema. The results of hyaluronic acid lip filler enhancement are subtle and natural. On average, the results last for about 6-12 months depending on the type of filler used for the treatment. The most commonly used hyaluronic fillers used for lip augmentation are Juvederm and Teosyal because they allow the injector to exercise better control and the acid suspension within the gel is more stable as compared to other brands. Due to this, their effects may last for more than a year.
